A New Release!
The story started with a woman laying in a giant, earthen hole. I knew she was having a mental breakdown. But why? And why dig a hole?
Writing The Night Gardener was so fun, and a little twisty at times. Now it’s ready for you to read. This week is launch week, and as I gear up for this short story to be released in the wild, I am remembering where it all started. There were some really important people cheering me on. I am so grateful to all of my readers.
When I first started writing, I was a middle schooler with a fanatic passion for journals and miniature notebooks. I’d write down anything just to fill up pages so that I could start a new journal. It wasn’t until high school that I began returning to those old diaries to read the dramatic existence of a twelve-year old.
Much to my surprise, and probably many of my teachers who failed essays of mine, my writing skills and content choice have improved. Letter by hard-won word, writing has become a passion. I still collect journals, but they are full of intentional prose now.
My second in-print (with an ISBN number and everything!) short story is ready for you, Readers.
Some of you have cheered me on every week. One person, my love, every day. I can attest that no one has washed more dishes for the written word than that man! At least, in our kitchen.
Those of you who can’t see my hard drive, the books are coming. Manuscripts don’t write, or sell, themselves. So, short stories will sustain you and I in the meantime. Hold on a little longer. And enjoy The Night Gardener.
Physical copies and eBook downloads can be purchased from The Writers’ Rooms, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble. Thank you for reading my writing. I cannot ever explain to you how powerful a motivating force you are.
